Metabones Nikon-G/F to Micro-4/3 mount Speed Booster adapters are designed exclusively for the Blackmagic 2.5k Cinema Camera (BMCC) - and are not compatible with other Micro 4/3 cameras. The new Speed Booster ULTRA m43 uses an advanced 5-element 4-group optical design incorporating ultra-high index tantalum-based optical glass. However, the new design is specifically optimized for the Micro Four Thirds sensor and filter stack, and as a result achieves an astonishing level of performance that sets a new standard for focal reducers.
This Speedbooster allows a full frame Nikon F-Mount G lens to be mounted to a Sony NEX format camera while increasing the angle of view and the maximum aperture one f/stop. The Speed Booster takes the light from a larger full-frame lens' image area and projects it onto the APS-C sensor allowing the sensor to utilize all of the lens' light and effectively produce a full-frame angle of view with an APS-C sensor. This also increases the maximum aperture of one f/stop making the lens more effective in low-light and able to produce a shallower depth of field.
Mounted between a mirrorless camera and a SLR lens, Speed Booster® increases maximum aperture by 1 stop (hence its name), increases MTF and makes lens wider by a factor of 0.71x.
