The NiSi HUC PRO Nano IR Neutral Density Filter ND8 (0.9) 3 Stop is specially designed to reduce the amount of light entering the camera by 3 stops. This filter is made from high-quality optical glass with nano coating to prevent losing any single bit of detail. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.9 density provides a 3 stop reduction in light from entering the lens.
Graduated Neutral Density (ND) Filters allow you to reduce the amount of light reaching the sensor on a portion of your picture. This helps control the exposure difference between Highlights and Shadows for a more balanced exposure and dramatic effect. By rotating the filter-holder and adjusting the position of the filter up and down you can precisely control where the filter has an effect on the image.
Neutral Density (ND) Filters allow you to reduce the amount of light reaching the sensor so that you can reduce shutter speed and get some motion effect. It is most commonly used to create motion blur in water and clouds. ND filters also allow you to use wide apertures in very bright conditions. Videographers use them to manage exposure so they can achieve the correct frame rates and depth-of-field.
