Welcome to the PowerShot V1, a powerful video-first camera with all the features you are looking for content creation, in an all-in-one design. This new sleek design features an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens, advanced autofocus, a built-in cooling fan, and impressive stabilization. The PowerShot V1 will let you focus on your creativity without worrying about time limits getting in the way of your videos.

The lens

The PowerShot V1 is equipped with an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that is equivalent to a 17-52mm lens for Full Frame cameras (16-50mm when taking still photos) with an aperture range of F2.8-11 at the wide-angle setting, making it ideal for vlogging without the worry about changing lenses. A built-in 3-stop ND filter is available, for bright outdoor lighting conditions, so you are ready to shoot, wherever you are.

Get Up Close

Capture subjects in large detail by focusing down to 5.9 inches. This enables richly expressive close-up shots using the wide angle of view and bokeh that a wide-angle lens can provide.

The sensor

Larger than the sensors typically found on compact cameras, the newly designed 1.4-type CMOS sensor has 22.3 megapixels giving you enhanced image quality which provides a shallower depth of field, better light performance, improved Dynamic Range and greater ISO performance.

Keeping it cool

The PowerShot V1 features a cooling fan to keep internal components from getting too hot, allowing for virtually unlimited continuous shooting at 4K60P. The fan pulls heat from the sensor and vents it out the side to prevent overheating, which extends recording times and ensures consistency during long shoots.

Video

This camera is focused on the video content creator, and it shows with oversampled and uncropped options for both 1080 and 4K30 for enhanced sharpness and detail. It also offers cropped 4K60, providing clarity and smoothness of 4K resolution at 60fps, with an approximate crop factor of 1.4x. For more advanced users, the PowerShot V1 also has Canon Log 3, allowing you to record movies with a wide dynamic range and 10-bit color depth, starting at a base speed of ISO 800.

Shooting Modes

Since this camera was created around the idea of capturing video, it comes with some unique features that enhance your creations. Let's start with a close-up movie mode for displaying small objects (which the dual pixel AF II will lock onto. Of course you also have Movie IS to reduce camera shake for clear videos, and Smooth Skin Movie. You can also use the standard choices of full-auto, full manual operation, and Shutter- or Aperture-priority exposure. On top of all of this, you can even register up to 3 custom shooting modes (C1, C2, C3) for video or still shooting. In a first for PowerShot cameras, the V1 includes a switch for video or still shooting, allowing you access to all shooting modes on the mode dial.

Keep it steady

Your videos will look even more professional with both lens optical IS and Movie digital IS functions from our EOS mirrorless cameras, working separately or together to provide fantastic image stabilization. Even if you're walking while shooting, your footage will look natural and steady.

We've also introduced Subject Tracking Image Stabilization, which prioritizes stabilization at the subject's location when it's off-center.

* Using Movie digital IS results in cropped movies.

** Movie Electronic IS, Subject Tracking IS, and Movie Auto Horizontal Compensation are not available at 4K crop 60p, at beautiful skin video.

Selfie Service

Chances are that you will be capturing a lot of yourself, so we have included features to make that experience even better, like a flip out LCD so you can see yourself in front of the camera. A tally light has been added to the front of the camera so you know when it is recording. Even the grip has been redesigned to be better held from the front utilizing your thumb for stability and tocontrol the tilt. Everything you need to make yourself look great!

The right connections

This camera also offers fabulous connectivity so that you can capture and share yourcreativeendeavors effortlessly. With Bluetooth you can connect to your smartphone to use it as a wireless remote control for capturing images even in continuous shooting modes. The PowerShot V1 also supports Full HD streaming over USB and wireless LAN, perfect for video calls or live streaming. The Canon Camera Connect app let's you access, view, and share your photos and videos when you are on-the-go.

Additionally enjoy high-quality audio with its three built-in microphone array (which also helps to reduce background noise) and included windscreen as well as a mic jack, and a headphone jack for connecting external devices. Lastly with the multi-function hot-shoe, you can add additional compatible accessories as they come out, and even now support multi-function accessories like the DM-E1D digital microphone, and the AD-P1 Smartphone adapter to easily transfer photos and videos.

Live Switcher Mobile

Just install the app and connect your smartphone wirelessly, and you can live stream while switching between up to three cameras.

Switching between screens helps you keep your viewers engaged. You can show the best angles that work for you. Simple to use, this app allows you to switch smoothly even when solo streaming.

*1: The temperature of the camera (externally and internally) is almost the same as the surrounding environment of the camera (ambient temperature, at room temperature (23°C / 73°F)) and the camera use is started in that condition (turning on the camera and starting use).
According to Canon testing conditions when using SD memory cards conforming to Canon testing standards.
• When using a screen, no communication, without power over USB, and under 23°C / 73°F environment.
• When the ambient temperature is higher than 23°C / 73°F, the available continuous recording time will be shorter.
• The available continuous recording time will be shorter when connected via Wireless LAN. (Heat generation: no communication < with communication)
• When powered over USB, the available continuous recording time will be shorter than when battery powered. (Heat generation: battery powered < powered over USB)
• When Live View display or movie playback is maintained before recording begins, the available continuous recording time may be shorter.
• The card may become full sooner than the available continuous recording time due to the movie recording image quality or the capacity of the card used.
• When [Auto pwr off temp.: High] is set, the camera unit and cards may be hotter. Since there is a low risk of a temperature burn or other injury, the user should avoid shooting while holding the camera and instead use a tripod or similar support. Also, the cards may become hot, so the user needs to be careful not to get burned when removing the cards.
