The new “RICOH THETA Z1 51GB” is an expanded built-in storage version of the top-end model “RICOH THETA Z1” that was launched in May 2019. The basic performance of the “RICOH THETA Z1” is kept as-is, allowing users to capture 360° still images and videos in excellent image quality, significantly expanding the storage capacity from 19 GB to 51 GB to meet the needs of the market, and ensuring that users do not have to worry about storage space. With this capacity, users can save approximately 900 RAW+ images or approximately 6,350 JPEG images on the camera itself.

The features of the predecessor model are carried on in this model, including a compact body and 1.0-type back-illuminated CMOS image sensor which makes it possible to record 360° high-quality still images equivalent to 23 million pixels (6720 × 3360 pixels). It features versatile shooting modes such as aperture priority shooting, allowing users to capture high-quality images in any type of shooting situation, including outdoor scenes and dark scenes. Also, the powerful rotational three-axis image stabilization function lets users record incredibly realistic, smooth 360° videos at 4K (3840 × 1920) and 30 fps equivalent.

Records natural 360° images using approx. 23MP(6720 x 3360, 7K) still image shooting and highly accurate image stitching.
Using a newly developed lens unit which reduces ghosting, flare and purple fringe. Aperture mechanism is newly adopted with the selection of F2.1, F3.5 and F5.6. By closing down the aperture, clear image is achieved by deepening the depth of field.
Produces incredibly realistic spherical video by 4K (3840 x 1920, 29.97fps) quality.
Supports 360° live streaming in 4K. Transmits excellent quality real-looking image to the world.
Demonstrates superior noise reduction performance even when shooting at night or indoors with low light due to the equipped 1.0-inch back illuminated CMOS image sensor.
Supports various shooting scenarios using a variety of shooting modes.
It is possible to save in RAW (DNG) format for the first time in THETA series. (Can also save in JPEG at the same time.)
Equipped with a 4-channel microphone. 4 microphones are built into the camera to independently record sound from 4 different directions when shooting video.

Design

A magnesium alloy that combines a high-grade feel with robustness is used for the camera body.
While being equipped with a large image sensor, the internal construction of the camera has been optimized to produce unprecedented high performance and high quality at this size.
Equipped with a display panel to enable you to check information such as the battery level, number of recordable still images and the shooting mode.

Creativity

Enables editing of 360° images in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC. Import Stich the image with the dedicated plug-in "RICOH THETA Stitcher".
Records 4K video with 360° spatial audio for a more realistic VR world.
Use the dedicated editing apps “THETA+” to easily put the finishing touches to an eye-catching work.
