Seattle University Environmental Studies and Spanish

I first got started in photography using my mothers old Nikon FE, playing with chemicals in the darkroom with black and white film. From there photography became my passion. It became apparent that using a photograph to tell a story was what I wanted to do.

I now work as a the Photo Editor for Seattle University's newspaper, the Spectator, while freelancing for magazine publications and news organizations.

Photographs, words, breaking down barriers and discovering different stories drives me towards this area of work. I want to have the type of impact that makes people look critically at the environment around them. I want to do this professionally as a photojournalist in my future.
